and approaching new york city, philadelphia, baltimore and d.c. definitely an umbrella day. you step outside you know it's going to pour at some portion of the day. still have breaks of sun. not going to rain all day long. when the sun comes out it will be warm. temperatures in the mid 80s with high humidity and thunderstorms rolling through areas along the border of iowa and illinois. looks like chicago that's going to stay to your west, that's good. no air travel problems out of chicago this morning. but later today, numerous thunderstorms from st. louis to chicago all the way through the southeast. notice how hot we are in dallas, 102 today. yesterday you were 103. and as far as charlotte goes, we had rainfall and thunderstorms last night. i think we're going to do it again this afternoon into the evening. the big forecast is for thursday night. the president will be trying to speak outdoors at bank of america stadium. they're trying to say they're going to do it rain or shine. the biggest fear any lightning with the thunderstorms. but at 10:30 at night hopefully all that should be dying off

baltimore high school has a bail hearing today. 18-year-old robert gladden faces attempted murder and other charges in the august 27 shooting at perry hall high school. he shot 17-year-old daniel borowy in the school cafeteria. he left the hospital on monday. >> two women facing child endangerment charges after police made a disturbing discovery at their home daycare center in dale city. the women were arrested on tuesday. police and child protection found 21 children under the age of four inside the home on abilene way. some strapped into car seats and others kept in a closet and a bathroom. >> my heart bleeds. to hear something like that is very shocking. . to hear that a provider was not licensed with 21 children in their home is very shocking. >> police say the women did have a home day care permit but only to watch five children. >> today is the final chance for drivers to weigh in on proposed tax on the dulles toll road. airport authority will hold its final public hearing tonight at spring hill elementary school in mclean. it wants to gradually raise tolls from $2.25 now to $4.50 by

in frederick. 83 in baltimore. 82 towards la plata. a very warm atmosphere. take a look at the heat intex. even at this hour even though we're not dealing with a whole lot of sunshine, 90 in dc. 96 toward frederick, soupy atmo. a tu stofew storms trying to ma their way toward the metro area down to the south and west. those should die out over the next couple of hours. what may not die out, though, are these showers down here toward the south. some very heavy rain down around roanoke right now. this is a boundary that looks like it's going to stay together and move right up the eastern portions of the blue ridge. we could see some fairly heavy rain overnight tonight. if you're thinking about going to the nationals game tonight, i think you're fine. will there be a brief shower? it's possible. but i think they're going to get the game in without any real problems. tomorrow we'll be watching out for the this back here. notice this line of showers and thunderstorms. this is actually a frontal boundary. this frontal boundary will help to sweep on through the area. that's what's going to help to giv

very nicely. just a little bit of fog. here is a look at where our temperatures are. 69 at baltimore. we have 71 at hagerstown, 07 at winchester and 66 degrees at culpeper. we've got a weak front to the south of us. not looking at much happening there with that. but this is the big weather maker for tomorrow. today, we're looking at plenty of sunshine for you. there is one of the models that does want to bring is a little bit of wet weather later on this afternoon and our futurecast does show a light, light shower to our northwest at about the 4:00 hour or so. other than that, we are talk nice conditions. it will be hot today though but this is the front. this front will push its way across as we move through into saturday. it will bring us widespread showers and a chance of some thunderstorms so prepare yourself for it. could see a little bit in the early part of the day and than a break and a little bit more in the afternoon. primarily in the afternoon along and ahead of this front is where we expect to see some storms and showers. just prepare yourself accordingly. we've got dry c
